Johanna Hyde

Hoosick Falls – Johanna Hyde, 76, passed away on Sunday, August 9, 2015, at her residence surrounded by her loving family. She resided on Griffin Avenue with her husband Arthur M. Hyde Jr.

[private]Johanna was born on May 20, 1939, in Hoosick Falls, daughter of the late George E. and Beatrice (Bailey) Maleady. She attended the Walter A. Wood High School in Hoosick Falls. Johanna was formerly employed at Oak Materials, the Hoosick Federal Credit Union and Allied Signal, all in Hoosick Falls. She and her husband, Arthur, enjoyed golfing at the Hoosick Falls Country Club where they were members. She was also a former Den Mother with the cub scouts, a member of the Catholic Daughters of America, the Hoosick Falls Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary and St. Mary’s Academy Auxiliary. Johanna was a communicant of the Immaculate Conception Church in Hoosick Falls.

Survivors other than her husband Arthur include their children, Lorrie (William) Hall of Chantilly, VA, Arthur (Sandy) Hyde III, James (Kathy) Hyde, Mary (Joseph) Bettis and Jennifer Hyde all of Hoosick Falls, her sister Betty Graney and brother Charles R. Vogler, both of Hoosick Falls. She is also survived by fifteen grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Johanna is predeceased by two sons, Christopher and John, and a sister, Mary Rita Maleady.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Thursday August 13 at 10 am from the Immaculate Conception Church on Main Street in Hoosick Falls. Burial will follow the mass at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Hoosick Falls.

Relatives and friends may call at the Mahar Funeral Home 43 Main Street in Hoosick Falls on Wednesday August 12 from 4 to 8 pm. Memorial contributions may be made to either St. Mary’s Academy, the Karen and Molly McGovern Memorial Fund or the Immaculate Conception Church through the funeral home.

The family would like to extend special appreciation to Dr. Marcus Martinez, the physicians and staff of SVMC Cancer Center, Community Hospice, Mahar Funeral Home and Father Tom Zelker, as well as all of the family and friends that offered their thoughts, prayers, and support during Johanna’s illness.[/private]
