Kenneth A. Fleming

Hoosick Falls – Kenneth A. “Uncle Ken” Fleming, 84, passed away on Tuesday August 11, 2015 at the Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation in Hoosick Falls. He resided on Bovie Hill Road with his wife Anne (Rancourt) Fleming.

[private]Ken was born on July 6, 1931, in Bennington, Vermont, son of the late Leslie and Esther (Keeler) Fleming. He attended schools in Hoosick Falls. Ken was a veteran of the United States Army serving during the Korean Conflict. He and his wife owned and operated Uncle Ken’s Tavern in Hoosick Falls for many years. Ken was an avid sports fan especially the Cincinnati Reds and horse racing. He also enjoyed the time he spent with his grandchildren. He was very active with the AA meetings in the area, and had many friends with the various groups.

Survivors other than his wife Anne include their children Linda Fleming of Myrtle Beach, SC, Kathy Fleming Spendiff of Cambridge, NY and Patty Fleming of Hoosick Falls, NY, five grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and a sister Barbara Pierce of Hoosick, NY. He is predeceased by a son Kenneth A. Fleming, Jr. who died in 1996, a brother Leslie Fleming and sisters Esther Andrew, Betty Hynick, Mary Sears and Virginia Bartholdi.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Friday August 14 at noon from the Immaculate Conception Church on Main Street in Hoosick Falls. Burial will follow the mass at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Hoosick Falls.

Relatives and friends called at the Mahar Funeral Home in Hoosick Falls on Thursday August 13 from 4 to 8 pm. Memorial contributions may be made to the Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation through the funeral home.[/private]
