Michael W. Bornt

Hoosick Falls – Michael W. “Mike” Bornt, 71, passed away on Friday August 7, 2015 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He resided on State Route 67 with his wife Patricia (Morin) Bornt.

[private]Mike was born on March 1, 1944 in Hoosick Falls, New York, son of the late Ronald and Margaret (Adriance) Bornt. He attended schools in Hoosick Falls. Mike was a veteran of the United States Navy serving from 1963 to 1966 on the USS Randolph and USS Independence. He drove for the Clemente Brothers Company and in the 1970’s he and George Herrington owned and operated H & B Contractors. Mike then went to work for the Hoosick Falls Central School, driving a School bus for thirty years. He was a coach with the Little League and Miss Softball League, both in Hoosick Falls. He enjoyed deer hunting, fishing, trapping and was a member of the Owlkill Rod and Gun Club.

Survivors other than his wife Patricia include their children Robert (Sabrina) Bornt and Julie (Eric) Bryant of Hoosick Falls, six grandchildren Charles, Allysson, Kara, Courtney, Serenity and Jennifer, a great-granddaughter Aubree, two sisters Dawn McIntire of Florida and Linda (Curtis) Minkler of Walloomsac, NY. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins. Mike is predeceased by a sister, Juanita Brown and a brother, Dennis Bornt.

Funeral services were held Wednesday August 12, at 10 am from the Mahar Funeral Home. Burial followed the service at Maple Grove Cemetery in Hoosick Falls.[/private]

Relatives and friends called at the funeral home on Tuesday from 5 to 8 pm. Memorial contributions may be made to the North Hoosick Fire Department or Rensselaer County Community Hospice through the funeral home.
