On Wednesday, September 23 at 4 pm everyone age 10 and up is invited to attend a workshop at the Petersburgh Library to learn how to make paper beads led by Maria Fusco Levin. Sign up is required and only 12 people can be accepted. All materials will be provided, but if anyone has colorful magazines they would like to bring they are welcome to do so. [private]

Ms Levin studied jewelry at Studio Jewelers, ltd, a trade school in NYC. Upon completion of her certificate program in 2004, she started her career at Ed Levin Jewelry in Cambridge, NY where she worked for one year. In 2005, Maria was hired by J.K. Bloom Jewelers of Troy, NY and remained there as a bench jeweler until the birth of her daughter in 2010. In 2011, she was contracted by The Arts Center of the Capital Region as on-site instructor with the arts programs at New Visions of Albany. In 2012, Maria was hired as faculty at The Arts Center, where she teaches Jewelry I, II and III in the Crafts for Credit program with Hudson Valley Community College. In addition to her curriculum development within the existing jewelry programs, Maria has produced and presented a number of original one-day workshops and a new 6-week beginner program in the metal arts department. Maria also makes custom jewelry and performs repairs in her home studio.[/private]
