Although the Town of Petersburgh may be stymied by the cost of making the entry door of the Veterans Hall compliant with ADA standards of accessibility, the Petersburgh Veterans Memorial Community Center Inc (PVMCC) has been seeking a solution. [private]The PVMCC has applied for a Home Depot “Community Grant” to buy a pallet of “cold patch” to fix the grade outside the door to make it ADA compliant. This would also include some work to make the door’s threshold compliant as well.
The grant application is for $5,000. The PVMCC expects to hear whether or not it will get the grant by the end of September.
They hope to recruit volunteer labor to install the cold patch, if the grant is funded.[/private]
