The Battle of Bennington fought on August 16, 1777 in Walloomsac, New York provided a long-needed victory for American forces during the American Revolution.
A program consisting of various reflections on the events of that Battle will be presented[private]starting at 4 pm on Sunday, August 16 at the New York State Bennington Battlefield Historic Site located on NYS Route 67, a few miles east of the intersection of NYS routes 67 and 22 in North Hoosick. Join us to hear what the combatants and civilians had to say after the battle.
Much of the original site of the battle can be viewed from the area dedicated in 1927 and the site is about 8 miles from the Bennington Battle Monument in Bennington, Vermont. One can easily visit both sites in one outing.
Participating in the program will be members of the Sons of the American Revolution, Daughters of the American Revolution, Brigade of the American Revolution, 2nd Continental Regiment of Artillery, His Majesty’s 53rd Regiment of Foot in America, the Hoosick Township Historical Society and other local individuals.
