John Cramer

Hoosick Falls – Mr. John (Jack) Cramer, 82, of 1 Nixon Street died on August 31, 2015 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. Jack was born on December 16, 1932, he was the son of the late Henry and Helena (Regan) Cramer. He is survived by his two daughters Maria (Brian) Rousseau, of Hoosick Falls and Lisa (Glen) Johnson Cramer of Rhode Island and daughter-in-law Lynn Cramer of Hoosick Falls. He was preceded in death by his son Gary Cramer.

Ob-CramerJack served in the Korean War as a Medic and was an active member of the American Legion for many years. He belonged to the National Guard and retired from the Hoosick Falls Armory, after serving 34 years.

Jack enjoyed the “simple things in life”, such as spending summers with his family at Camp Dix, at Hedges Lake, and the family camp in East Matunick, RI. He loved to cook and was an avid carpenter and could be found spending many hours in the workshop. Jack was an animal lover and was never without a pet.

He has seven grandchildren, Matthew, Nathan (Rousseau), Tyler, Zachary, Garrett (Johnson), Daniel and Alexis (Cramer) and one great-grandchild Benjamin (Rousseau).

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Saturday September 5, at 10:30 am from the Immaculate Conception Church on Main Street in Hoosick Falls. Burial will follow the mass at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Hoosick Falls.

Relatives and friends may call at the Mahar Funeral Home, 43 Main Street in Hoosick Falls on Saturday from 9 to 10 am. Memorial contributions may be made to the Hoosick Falls Fire Department through the funeral home.
