Many Events Planned For Hoosick Hullabaloo

HAYC3 will help ring in the fall season with a new Music & Arts Festival called Hoosick Hullabaloo. Slated for September 25 through 27, this three-day celebration will feature many of the most popular events from previous Pumpkinpaloozas plus a number of new programs.

[private]Beginning on Friday the 25th, Hullabaloo will kick off at 4 pm with the unveiling of the Community Bench Project, all painted by local artisans and neighbors. Registration for ‘Glow Ball in the Falls Night Golf Tournament’ will start at 6 pm at the Hoosick Falls Country Club and the evening will wrap up with live music at Brown’s Brewery Walloomsac Tap Room.

Saturday’s festivities include the annual Rolf Sternberg 5K Race for a Vibrant Community (co-sponsored with Civicure), the ever-popular Punkin’ Chunkin,’ Chowderfest, Kids Zone, Medieval Knights demonstration, the Pet Parade, Human Foosball, live music, food and more.

Throughout the day, Wood Park will also include a community marketplace for local craftspeople, artists, artisans, farmers, business and non-profits to sell their goods and services. Vendor application can be found on the website: HAYC3.org or call (518)686-9050

In addition, a day-long ‘Fall into Painting: Plein Air’ Competition will give both experienced and aspiring artists an opportunity to paint a local scene, direct from life and outdoors.

Artists of all skill levels are welcome to participate. Painting will commence on Saturday, September 26. At completion, paintings will be brought to the HAYC3 Armory for an art sale. For more information, visit HAYC3.org/Fall-into-Painting.

Saturday’s festivities will conclude with a ‘Hoosick is Illuminated’ Celebration. The Illuminated Parade starts at the Town Athletic Fields at 7 pm followed by live music by the BuzzSaw Boys in Wood Park at 8 pm. After the Parade, community members, with lanterns, flashlights or glow sticks in hand, can pick up an Illumination Stroll map and walk throughout the community where lighted installations created by the HAYC3 Artist Guild members will be on display. Community members are invited to participate in free luminary workshops beginning September 2, and create glowing creations to feature in the parade or to be displayed throughout town.

Hoosick is Illuminated will conclude with a Luminary Lantern Launch scheduled to take place at 9 pm on Elm Street near the HAYC3 Armory.

The final day of Hoosick Hullabaloo will begin on Sunday morning with a Blues Grass Brunch at the HF Country Club featuring live music and food. The day with conclude with the Hoosick Community Quilt unveiling in the HAYC3 Armory.
