A sixteen foot wide mobile home being towed up Route 7 struck the pole holding the traffic signal lights in Hoosick on Tuesday afternoon. [private]

The impact took out the traffic signals and did significant damage to the pole and wiring. The home was being transported from Pennsylvania to Maine. The tractor driver said a vehicle stopped suddenly in front of him, apparently to make a left turn onto Hill Road, and he went as far to the right as possible trying to avoid the vehicle. About eighteen feet of the home was extensively damaged from roof to frame and will probably be declared a total loss. The Hoosick Fire Department responded for traffic control.[/private]
