Nephew Is Sick

September 3, 2015 By eastwickpress

Tuesday, November 24, 1835: I took my sleigh and carried two of my hogs weighing 397 pounds to Lewis M. Brown at six cents per and took a note of $24 and 32 cts to be paid in 30 days, and he credits me two dol and 13 cts to be paid out of his store for the loading I brought from Troy.

Wednesday: This forenoon I took the cutter and carried my wife to brother Simeon Wylie’s to see his son Simeon for he is very dangerous sick with a fever. We returned home and I salted our pork and this evening I returned to brother Wylie’s with my wife and she stayed and watched with Simeon. I rode up to brother Sylvester’s and carried him a piece of fresh pork, and I called to give Aseneth Newton a piece meat. This evening I tended the school meeting. In our district, Mr. S. Wylie was chosen clerk, Mr. John Russel and Joshua B. Maxon and Sylvenas Carpenter the 2nd the trustees, and R. Danford collector.

Thursday: This morning I rode over to brother Simeon’s after my wife. Simeon is not any better.

Friday: I chopped wood to the door and towards night I carried my wife over to brother Simeon’s to see his son Simeon but no better.
