Hubbard Hall welcomes John Sheldon back to the stage to present The Red Guitar – A Life In Music. Equal parts music and storytelling, this musical monologue tells the history of rock and roll as he lived it, from early childhood to present day: becoming Van Morrison’s lead guitarist at 17, a songwriter to James Taylor, and a chance encounter with Jimi Hendrix.
[private]After dazzling audiences with his stunning original composition and accompaniment to An Iliad last spring, John Sheldon now takes center stage with hilarious tales from the road and a lot of the kind of guitar playing which moved Ed Ward of National Public Radio to call him “One of the great guitarists of our time.” It’s funny, poignant, and in the end a story of personal transformation. This is a chance to experience The Red Guitar in an up-close and personal setting.
