September 3, 2015 By eastwickpress

CiviCure and HAYC3 are proud to present The Rolf Max Sternberg 5K Road Race for Vibrant Communities, the annual race that celebrates Rolf Sternberg’s life (1945-2012) and legacy in Hoosick Falls, NY, and helps ensure we continue the community’s revitalization. The race will take place on Saturday, September 26 with a start time of 9 am in Wood Memorial Park on Main Street in Hoosick Falls. [private]Early Registration is $20, day of the event registration is  $30; online registration closes on September 14. We encourage you to register early, as it will save you time on the morning of the race. The first 100 paid entrants registered before September 14 will receive a complimentary tee-shirt.

You can register online or download the form and mail it to CiviCure, PO Box 68, Hoosick Falls, NY 12090, drop it off at the law office of Sternberg & Gorman at 5 Main Street in Hoosick Falls, or bring it on the day of the event. The form is available at www.civicure.org (click on “Events”).

Medals will be awarded to the top male and female overall finishers. In addition, the top male and female runners in each of the following categories will receive a medal: 14 and under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, and 60 and above.

Sternberg enjoyed the simple things in life. He loved running around the block and taking in the fresh air. He rarely started his day without a 2½ mile run. We hope you will join us for this race to honor his life and support the Hoosick Falls community. We know Sternberg will be smiling down on us as he sees his family and friends come together and enjoy the countryside in the community he loved so much. Whether you will be running, walking or strolling, we look forward to seeing you at 9 am on Saturday, September 26. If you can’t make the event but still want to support CiviCure, and the race, you can make a donation on CiviCure’s website.

CiviCure’s vision is to help revitalize the Hoosick economy through active stewardship of our rich heritage and rural environs and the art inspired by them. Our current project is to revive the Wood Block Building. The event is co-sponsored by both organizations to benefit CiviCure, which was founded by Rolf Sternberg.

The Rolf Max Sternberg 5K Road Race for Vibrant Communities is one of many events taking place during HAYC3’s Hoosick Hullaballoo weekend.[/private]
