Two Exciting Events Coming To Dyken Pond Environmental Education Center

Evening Paddle 

Dyken Pond Environmental Education Center is offering an Evening Paddle on September 9 from 5 to 6:30 pm. Bring a picnic dinner you can eat by the lake, if desired.  This program is limited to 12 boats so pre-registration is required and can be done by contacting the Center at dykenpond@fairpoint.net or by calling 518-658-2055. Kayaks can be rented for $10, or you can bring your own. A complete list of programs can be found at: www.dykenpond.org.

The Hill Hollow Band

DPEEC is holding a Music Under the Trees event featuring the Hill Hollow Band on Saturday, September 12 from 4 to 7 pm.  One of the emerging bright lights in the Capital Region’s roots music scene, the Hill Hollow Band performs with rambling energy that must be seen to be appreciated.

The perennially popular Hill Hollow Band will be playing a free concert under the trees at Dyken Pond on Saturday, September 12.

Armed with a multitude of instruments, eclectic arrangements, and musical influences that span a century, this band has a well-earned reputation as local live performance favorites.  Get ready to enjoy richly textured arrangements including accordion, mandolin, fiddle, guitars, pedal steel, bass and full harmony vocals.  This free concert will be held outdoors.  Bring a lawn chair.  Light snacks available for sale.  This event is co-sponsored by the Friends of Dyken Pond Center and made possible with funding by EP&M.

Dyken Pond Environmental Education Center is a Rensselaer County Park open daily during daylight hours for hiking, fishing and non-motor boating. Canoes and kayaks are available for rent each day from 9am until 3pm. Call for more information and a complete schedule of our summer events.[/private]
