On Saturday, October 24 Brown’s Brewing and CiviCure are excited to present Farm to Canvas, an event combining the profound pleasure of collecting art with the excitement of a lottery where every ticket holder is a winner. The goal of Farm to Canvas is to grow the audience for original artwork while supporting the restoration of Hoosick Falls’ Wood Block Opera House. Since 1880, Wood Block has housed two extraordinary exhibition and performance spaces. CiviCure is leading the effort to restore these facilities to ensure the future of the arts in the community.

The Farm to Canvas fundraiser will take place in tandem with a farm to table evening in the beautifully restored mill that houses Brown’s Brewing Company’s Walloomsac Brewery and Taproom at 50 Factory Hill Road. Here alongside the Walloomsac River, small original artworks by dozens of artists from the region and beyond (Hoosick and Cambridge to New York City to Vermont and Massachusetts) will be sold by lottery on October 24. Visitors to Brown’s Walloomsac Taproom may purchase art lottery tickets ($40 each) at the event on October 24 beginning at 6 pm. (Tickets are not required to attend the event.) Each ticket allows the purchaser to choose a work when their number is drawn at random beginning at 7 pm. The number of participating artists will determine the number of art lottery tickets sold. 
There is a wonderful roster of participating artists who work in a wide range of styles and mediums; come and be surprised by the the array of artists, some well-known, others yet-to-be discovered.
During the evening of the lottery sale, Brown’s will offer a unique farm to table menu (separate from the art lottery ticket) and live music by the Hill Hollow Band. Works will be exhibited in the Walloomsac Taproom from October 21 through the event on October 24.

Part of the fun of the lottery is that nobody knows which artist created which piece – they are signed on the back only.
