HFCS Financial Planning Night: Professional Financial Advisor Will Give Advice, Answer Questions

Get Information about How to Plan For Your Child’s College Education

Planning for college can create feelings of anxiety for parents, especially regarding financial matters. According to the College Board, the average cost of tuition and fees for the 2014–2015 school year was $31,231 at private colleges, $9,139 for state residents at public colleges, and $22,958 for out-of-state residents attending public universities. 

[private]The Hoosick Falls Central School District is hosting a financial planning night November 3. The event starts at 6:30 pm and will last for approximately one hour, with time for questions. The event will be held in the high school auditorium at Hoosick Falls Central School, located at 21187 NY 22 in Hoosick Falls.

This event is free to attend and open to parents, guardians, and grandparents of children in grades UPK-12.

The event is not limited to parents of students in the Hoosick Falls Central School District, but open to any parent who lives in any district in our area.

The event is led by Scott Miller, a financial advisor from Ameriprise. Miller has 11 years of experience, specializing in a broad range of financial products and services, including mutual funds and certificates, as well as brokerage services and financial planning.

Miller will introduce parents to a variety of college savings plans that are available today, and discuss investing options that may work best for your family. Information will be provided about the the features and benefits, including certain tax and contribution advantages, of the different education savings plans. This event can also help parents determine how much they will need to save to reach their goals, based on individual priorities and situations.[/private]
