The Berlin Planning Board opened its meeting this past week by accepting an application for a five acre subdivision on a private road off Dyken Pond Road. Eden Brand presented the Board with her survey and short environmental quality review (SEQR) form, asking she be allowed to subdivide five acres of land off a 45 acre parcel currently owned by her father Charles Brand. [private]Brand plans to build her home on the parcel. A public hearing on the proposal was set for 7 pm on Thursday October 22. Brand was given a copy of the form letter she is required to send to all adjacent landowners notifying them of the hearing.
The Board also held a public hearing on a proposal by Donald McHargue to transfer 1.36 acres of land on Dingman Drive to Janine Van Patten. Van Patten already has a home on the adjoining property, and the transfer is simply a lot line adjustment to square off her parcel. The Board had previously accepted her application, SEQR form and survey, and hearing no comment at the hearing approved the transfer by a three to nothing vote. Two members of the Board were absent that night, Frank Mace and Bonita Maxon.
The Board confirmed the date of its next meeting to be October 22 at 6:30 pm. Chairwoman Pamula Gerstel announced there would not be a meeting in November, as the scheduled date falls on Thanksgiving.[/private]
