Tatro is a native of Berlin and still makes her home there.  She started volunteering in her community and school libraries, liking it so much she studied library science and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree from Potsdam State College in Potsdam, NY.  Tatro said she was drawn to the position because of its proximity to her home and her desire to help Grafton and all of the Taconic Valley.  Tatro will be formally introduced to the community at a Library Open House on December 5.  In the meantime she plans to get acquainted with the Library and her new role as Director.

As those driving by the library can see, the new sign, funded in part by a $4,500 dollar NYS Library Construction Grant, is now up and spreading the word about new books and the new director.  Library President Estella Hovnanian also wishes to thank the Grafton Highway Department for painting and repairing the flag pole in front of the building.

The Grafton Community Library was constructed in 1954 in honor of all from Grafton who served in WWII.  The original Honor Roll stood at the site of the Library before it deteriorated and was replaced with the Monument that now stands in the Town Park.[/private]
