Guy is the son of Guy and Phoebe Milliman and will represent Hoosick Falls Jr./Sr. High School at a weekend conference in the spring of 2016.

After learning he was the recipient Milliman said, “this will put me in a better place to help others, and to lead others, especially by example.”

Milliman is already active in supporting the Hoosick community, having volunteered for the 2015 EC Golf Scramble, which benefits the EC Fund for Town of Hoosick youth sports. He also volunteered with the spaghetti dinner to benefit Nick Colaneri, a Hoosick Falls Police Officer battling cancer.

Milliman was very pleased to receive this award and said, “I’m representing Hoosick Falls at this leadership conference, and it’s an honor.” He added, “this will help me stand out more when I apply for college.”

College And Career Counselor Jessica Balch said, “Guy is a respectful and kind student with great leadership potential; an ideal ambassador to send to the Annual HOBY Leadership Seminar.”

Founded in 1958, HOBY’s mission is to inspire and develop our global community of youth and volunteers to a life dedicated to leadership, service and innovation.

HOBY programs are conducted annually throughout the United States, serving local and international high school students. HOBY programs provide students selected by their schools to participate in unique leadership training, service-learning, and motivation-building experiences.
