Hoosick Grange News

November 5, 2015 By eastwickpress

submitted by Corinne Philpott

Hoosick Grange had a short business meeting before the lecturer’s program.

Last week Martha Babbitt went to the New York State Grange Convention in Auburn, NY. Martha gave us a brief report of the meeting. This is usually done at a Pomona meeting, but Brunswick Grange cannot attend, so Pomona business was done at the Hoosick meeting.

[private]Natalie Ryan was in charge on the lecturer’s program. She had the hall all decorated for Halloween with pumpkins and ghosts and had spooky music. Just about everyone was dressed in Halloween costumes. She gave everyone a paper to fill in words telling a story about Halloween. She had everyone parade around and had Martha Babbitt pick the best costume or the one she liked. We had a Jumble Word Game where we had to unravel words and another game where we had to try to be able to read a person’s mind. She also had prizes. We had refreshments of cider and doughnuts provided by Allen and Edna Cornell. We all got treat bags. Everyone thanked Natalie for a great fun night.

Our next meeting is on November 11, Veteran’s Day. David and Helen Filkins are in charge of the program and refreshments.[/private]
