Hoosick Falls – Jane B. Winegard, 92, passed away on Monday October 26 at the Southwestern Vermont Medical Center in Bennington. She resided at Wood Park Lane. For 32 years she was the beloved wife of John “Jack” Winegard who died in 1985.

Jane was born on October 18, 1923 in Passaic, New Jersey, daughter of the late Harry and Emily (Newbery) DeLaMater. She was employed at the Cluett and Peabody Company in Troy, New York for forty years. Jane was a member of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church in Hoosick Falls where she served on the Altar Guild in many capacities, including several years as secretary. She was a member of the St. Hilda’s Guild and volunteered at the Thrift Shop and baked and worked at the Church’s food table during the Band Concerts for many years. For more than thirty years she volunteered as a Grey Lady at the Southwestern Vermont Medical Center. Jane was an avid golfer and recorded two holes in one at the Mt. Anthony Country Club.
Jane is survived by her sister-in-law Judy Blair of Ames, Iowa, nephew John DeLaMater and his wife Kathy of Guilderland, NY niece Judy Musser and her husband Charles of Lebanon, PA, niece Marlene Blair of Brunswick, NY and many close friends, including her dear friend and caregiver Bea Peterson. Jane is predeceased by two brothers, Charles DeLaMater and Harry Blair and a nephew Jeffery Blair.
Funeral services were Monday November 2 at 11 am from St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, Main Street, Hoosick Falls with Fr. Paul Baker officiating. Burial followed the service at Hoosick Rural Cemetery. Relatives and friends called at the Church on Monday from 10 am until the start of the service.
