A Gift Of Family Land Brought Before The Berlin Planning Board
By Doug La Rocque
There was no business on the agenda for the final meeting of the year for the Berlin Planning Board, but two town residents had an informal conference about a planned transfer of 2.2 acres of land on Dyken Pond Road. [private]Albert Hoffman said he would like to give the land to his grandson, Andrew Sittie. The properties are adjoining, with Sittie currently owning about eight tenths of an acre. The transfer, which is actually classified as a subdivision, is according to Hoffman simply a family gesture to give his grandson more land for his homestead. The Board gave Hoffman all the appropriate paperwork, and asked him to return in January to make the formal presentation, at which time a public hearing will be scheduled for the February meeting. Hearing no other business, the Board adjourned.
Planning Board Chairwoman Pam Gerstel said because of the proximity of its regularly scheduled meeting date to Christmas, there will be no further meetings in December. The next scheduled meeting is January 28, 2016.[/private]
