Girls Grab Two League Wins

The Lady Panther grabbed two Wasaren League wins, including a big overtime win over always tough Hoosic Valley on Friday.

HF 53 – Mechanicville 19 At HFCS, 12/9, HF (O 1 – 2 / L 1 – 0), Mech (O 0 – 2 /  L 0 – 1). The Ladies jumped out to a 19 – 2 lead and never looked back as they took Mechanicville to the cleaners. The Panthers used a full court press to throw the Red Raiders into complete turmoil, at times not being able to get the ball up the court. Liz Ryan had a triple double, recording 12 points, 11 rebounds and 12 steals, while Megan Flynn added 16 points and 14 rebounds. Eliza Whitman and Kelly each chipped in 11 points.

HF 35 – Hoosic Valley 33 At HVCS, 12/11, HF (O 3 – 1 / L 2 – 0), HV (O 3 – 1 / L 1 – 1). The Panthers jumped out to a 9 – 2 first quarter lead but couldn’t keep it as Hoosic Valley outscored them in each of the remaining three quarters to send the game into overtime. Hoosick Falls outscored the Indians 4 – 2 in the overtime to take the win. Kelly Pine scored 11 points to go along with eight rebounds, with Megan Flynn adding seven points and seven rebounds.[/private]
