Only 81 Units of Blood Needed To Reach 500 Unit Goal!

December 3, 2015 By eastwickpress

Hoosick has Heart is within reach of its 500 unit goal for blood drives in 2015 within the Town of Hoosick. This includes all drives, including school and corporation drives.

[private]On Monday, December 7, you will have an opportunity to help us reach that goal at our community’s last blood drive of the year which will be held at Hoosick Falls Community Alliance Church from 1 to 6 pm.

We would love to be able to boast 500 units! That’s 39 units more than last year and over 141 more than 2 years ago!

Blood donations often decline during the winter due to holiday festivities, inclement weather and seasonal illnesses, like the flu; so if you are available, why not make that appointment today? What better Christmas gift than to give the gift of life? Each pint can save up to three lives.

Appointments can be made by calling 1-800-RED-CROSS or by visiting redcrossblood.org. Walk-ins are welcome.

To make things quicker and more convenient for donors, Red Cross has just initiated RapidPass, a vehicle that allows you to complete the pre-donation reading and health history questionnaire on-line, on the day of donation, from the convenience of a computer at home or work.

This could cut your appointment time as much as 15 to 20 minutes. To get started, visit redcrossblood.org/RapidPass and follow the instructions.

Thanks for giving. Have a blessed Christmas season. For more information, contact Gail Smith at 686-9888.[/private]
