Ruth Ann Hoag

Hoosick Falls – Ruth Ann Hoag, 89, passed away on Wednesday December 2, at the Centers for Living and Rehabilitation in Bennington, Vermont. She was the wife of the late John A. Hoag who passed away in 1998.

[private]Ruth was born on July 24, 1926, in Schenectady, New York, daughter of Howard and Myrtle (Myers) Poland. Ruth was employed on the family farm in Walloomsac, New York. She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church, Tri-County Holstein Club, New York State Holstein Association, and Home Bureau Association. Ruth was a Rensselaer County 4H leader for many years, a Jr. Advisor for the Tri-County Holstein Club, as well as the Chairperson of the New York State Holstein Association Convention. She enjoyed working in her flower gardens.

Survivors include her two daughters Joyce Cipperly (Paul) of Hoosick Falls, Sandra Crawford of Rome, PA, her son Terrance Hoag (Judy) of Hoosick Falls, her grandchildren Michael, Mark Hoag, Marla Wilwol, Meredith Bushner, Rachel MacNeil, Keith Cipperly, Jodi Calkins and Jamie, Jenna and Shelby Crawford. Ruth was predeceased by a son-in-law John Crawford.

Funeral services were held Friday, December 4 at noon from the Immaculate Conception Church on Main Street in Hoosick Falls, NY. Burial followed the service at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Hoosick Falls. Memorial contributions may be made to either the Tri-County Holstein Club or the Town of Hoosick Rescue Squad through the Mahar Funeral Home, 43 Main Street, Hoosick Falls, NY 12090.[/private]
