December 3, 2015 By eastwickpress

By Doug La Rocque

The weather was great for late November; the turnout of both runners and spectators was exceptional, for the 99th running of the Troy Turkey Trot.  The participants were drawn from as far away as California, along with two Canadian provinces.

The 5K race had more than 4,000 entries, and was won by Boulder, Colorado’s Jordan Aziz in a time of 14:53 minutes.  Bennington, Vermont’s Tim Van Orden was the area’s top finisher, crossing the line in 8th place.  Stephentown’s Jared Stritsman was the next best of the local runners.  The Thanksgiving Day proceedings also featured a 10k race, the Turkey Trot one mile walk and the grade school walk, along with the third annual costume contest for participants.

The following is a list by town of area runners who completed the two races.  The results were provided to The Eastwick Press by race officials.  We apologize if any area runners were left off the list, and offer our congratulations to all of those who participated.
