HF 47 – Hoosic Valley 29
Hoosic Valley HS,1/15. With the Hoosic Valley suffering through an off year after competing in state championship competition for the past couple years, the Panthers easily defeated the Indians. Both teams started slowly, with HF outscoring the Indians, 5 – 4 in the first quarter. From there, the Panthers outscored the Indians 30 – 12, with the Indians only scoring in double figures in the fourth quarter, after the game was decided. Connor McCart had 15 points and Rem Hickey added 12.[private]
HF 64- Mechanicville 55
Mechanicville HS,1/12. This game was a rematch of a game the Panthers lost earlier in the season when HF had a nice lead but eventually lost the game. It didn’t work out that way for the Mechanicville Red Raiders this time  as the Panthers made five three-pointers in the first quarter and grabbed a 34-23 halftime lead. From there HF never gave up the lead. The Panthers went 17 of 19 from the free throw line to seal the deal. Rem Hickey had 17 points, Guy Milliman scored 14 and Connor McCart added 12.
This week the team travels to league leading Stillwater (L 9-0) on Friday, January 22. This is a big game as the undefeated Stillwater Warriors beat the Panthers in the first meeting in a close game. According to the Wasaren League schedule, there is no Tuesday game and the Panthers will face Granville at the Panther Den on Friday, January 29. Both games have a 7:30 pm start.
Wasaren League standings have Stillwater on top, Mechanicville (7-2), Hoosick Falls (7-2), Granville (5-4), Tamarac (3-6), Hoosic Valley (3-6), Greenwich (2-7), Cambridge (0-9).[private]
