Hoosick Has Heart: 2015 Blood Donations Exceed Those Of 2014

January 14, 2016 By eastwickpress

submitted by Gail Smith

Hoosick has Heart exceeded last year’s total of donations by six units with 467. That equates to up to 1,401 lives that could be saved – up to 3 lives per unit collected!

[private]Despite well wishes from many community members, the group fell just shy of its 500 unit goal this year. Hoosick has Heart thanks all of those who donated their time to give blood this year and even those who came out but were deferred for some reason.

Thanks to all of those who sponsored and hosted blood drives in 2015: Judy Brownell and the gang at Hoosick Falls Baptist Church hosted two drives, HF Community Alliance Church and St. Gobain each had three, and Holly Bossoni sponsored one at the Hoosick Falls Fire House for HFCS, and the Student Council sponsored two at HFCS

We will not lose sight of that 500 unit goal for 2016. There are drives scheduled in the Town of Hoosick every two months, so there is always an option to give locally. Mark your calendars for the first on February 5 at Hoosick Falls Baptist Church.

For more information on Town of Hoosick blood drives, contact Gail Smith at 518-686-9888.[/private]
