A Proposed Sub Division On
Dyken Pond Road In Berlin
By Doug La Rocque
At the Berlin Planning Board’s first meeting of the new year on Thursday, January 28, Board members once again took up a proposal by Albert Hoffman to subdivide his 90 plus acres of land at 68 Dyken Pond Road, giving 2.43 acres to his grandson Andrew Suttie and his wife Nicole. A public hearing was set for February 25 at the Board’s next scheduled meeting.
Earlier in the evening Ron and Robin Jacobs appeared with a question as to how to legally transfer less than once acre of land currently belonging to Catherine Ferreira at 16 East Road, to their property. Acting Chairman Frank Mace instructed them to first contact the Zoning Board of Appeals, as current zoning laws for that part of town do not allow transfers of less than an acre.
Board Member Deborah Sweeney also told the other members present that she has submitted her resignation from the Board. She said it is time for newer and younger members of the community to step forward and serve.[/private]
