New Accountant Saves Town Money

by Thaddeus Flint

A special meeting of the New Lebanon Town Board has saved the Town some money.

[private]Supervisor Colleen Teal pointed out at the January 25th meeting that the accounting firm of Pattison, Koskey, Bucci & Howe was offering to provide New Lebanon with the Town’s 2015 Annual Updated Document for $4,200. This was the same price the Town paid last year for the 2014 report.

Pattison, Koskey, Bucci & Howe was the accounting firm brought in by the previous Town Supervisor, Mike Benson.

At the Organizational Meeting on January 4, Pattison, Koskey, Bucci & Howe was replaced by Brian Fitzgerald, CPA as the Town’s accountant.

Supervisor Teal contacted Fitzgerald after receiving the $4,200 proposal to see what his price would be for the same report. Fitzgerald told Teal he would do the report at no additional charge.

There was no objection from the Board to going with Fitzgerald.

Teal is now in the process of getting the financial records from the old accountants to the new accounting so the report can prepared.[/private]
