In the largest turnout of voters in a Village election since at least 2001, incumbents Robert Downing, Ben Patten, and Karen Sprague were reelected by a wide margin to the Hoosick Falls Village Board on Tuesday, March 15. [private]There were 414 on-site votes and 38 absentee votes, for a total of 452. Karen Sprague received 339 votes (311 on site, 28 absentee), Robert Downing received 316 votes (284 on-site/32 absentee), and Ben Patten was third with 292 (259/33). 207 people voted for Brian Bushner (196/11), and Keith Cipperly garnered 116 votes (106/10).
Downing said, “There were more votes than I’ve ever seen in Hoosick Falls. It was a great turnout.” Both Sprague and Downing were at the polls when the numbers were announced, and both said that they were excited to work with the community to move Hoosick Falls forward. “The numbers show that the community is ready to work together,” said Sprague.[/private]
