William A. Sears

West Lebanon – William A. Sears, 80, died Saturday, February 27, 2016 at the Whittier Nursing Center in Ghent, NY.  Born in Albany on February 20, 1936, he was the son of the late Raymond and Alice Hatch Sears.

[private]sears williamHe was employed by the Chatham Auto Body and by the Petricca Industries in Pittsfield as an auto and truck mechanic.  He enjoyed farming and driving his tractor, snowmobiling and casino hopping with his late wife to Atlantic City and Foxwood.

He was the husband of the late Marilyn Hodgens Sears who died in 2004; beloved father of Joanne M. (Jay) Hennig and William M. (Tammy) Sears both of West Lebanon; grandfather of Michael Sears, Kelsey, Kalee, Holly and Craig Hennig; great-grandfather of Christian, Joseph, Nicholas, Natalie and Nakayla; brother of the late Robert Sears and Raymond “Dutch” Sears; beloved nephew of Dolores Sears of West Lebanon.

Relatives and friends called at the Hall & Higgins Funeral Home in Stephentown on Tuesday evening March 1, and the funeral service was held at 5:30 pm that day, with Rev. Susan Schultz officiating.  Spring interment is planned in the Cemetery of the Evergreens.
