April 7, 2016 By eastwickpress

Petersburgh Veterans Memorial Community Center and The Not Too Far From Home Comedy Tour will present an evening of professional stand up comedy on Saturday, May 7 at 7:30 pm, to benefit the PVMCC. Help support your community center by laughing with MC Aaron David Ward, feature Deric Harrington, and headliner Steve Van Zandt.

[private]The Not Too Far From Home Stand Up Comedy Tour stars comedian Aaron David Ward and his hand-picked fellow comedians who work throughout the Northeast and Midwest on a tour that truly is “not too far from home.” All the comedians either live in or have ties to upstate New York or other parts of the Northeast and have been performing professionally for years. Join MC Aaron David Ward and the other rising stars in the professional standup comedy world for a night of laughter. For more information, visit thenottoofarfromhomecomedytour.com.

Headliner Steve Van Zandt is best known for his amazingly accurate vocal and physical impersonations of the famous. Steve’s live shows are an eclectic mix of hilarious celebrity voices, completely original characters, and a lifetime of very funny observations through the eyes of this middle-aged babyboomer. Born in Albany, New York and raised in its suburbs, Steve has been performing stand-up comedy full time since 1991. That year he appeared on ABC TV’s “America’s Funniest People”, winning the runner-up cash prize. Other national appearances include “Show Me the Funny” on the Fox Family Channel and “Comedy at Club 54” on Canada’s Comedy Channel.

Over the years Steve has opened shows for such comedy icons, as Henny Youngman, Howie Mandel and “Weird Al” Yankovic, to name a few. He is much in demand as an entertainer for corporate functions, and as an Award-Winning Voice Actor. For more information, visit stevevanzandt.com.

Comedian Deric Harrington launched his comedy career in 2002 in the Capital Region of upstate New York before moving to the Chicago area and then returning to the Capital Region. Since beginning his career in stand up, he has performed all over the United States, including at the World Famous Improv.

Comedy Clubs in Chicago and Tampa. Some of his jokes have been published in the The Complete Idiot’s Guide to Jokes, by Larry Getlen, Squeaky Clean Comedy, It’s a Man’s World, and The Comedy Thesaurus, all by Judy Brown. For more information, visit funnyderic.com.

For the last 14 years comedian Aaron David Ward, from TV’s The Glenn Slingerland Situation, has entertained audiences from New Hampshire to California by getting them to laugh and think at his self-deprecating, socio-political, and culturally critical comedy. He opens his heart, mind, and soul to fans during each trip deep inside his mind for a funny, honest, and twisted look at his concerns, disappointments, doubts, fears, and worries. Aaron has performed throughout the Northeast and Midwest, and appeared in the Boston Comedy Festival, Plymouth Rock Comedy Festival, Cape May Comedy Festival, and The World Series of Comedy.
