The Derby Community Club was started back in 1935 when a few men pooled their money at the American House for the Kentucky Derby and won on a horse named “Omaha.” [private]Thereafter, ‘The Derby Community Club’ was formed donating to those in need, to little league, pee wee football, food baskets, end of the year awards to both schools, and the like. The club will celebrate its 81st anniversary with a Pre-Kentucky Derby Party to be held at the St. Stanislaw Hall on Mechanic Street in Hoosick Falls on Friday, May 6 from 6 to 9 pm. There will be music by Best Sound DJ (Matt and Joe Shaw). Food is included in the ticket price, and beverages will be available. There will be raffles, a Derby Hat contest, and a Door Prize.
