Dunn, Broderick And Hartley On Native Americans

Rensselaer Plateau Alliance invites the community to a three-part presentation about Native Americans in Rensselaer County at the Sand Lake Town Hall on Thursday, May 5.  [private]Shirley Dunn, author of four books on the Mohicans, will begin with a brief history of the Mohicans in the county. Warren Broderick, author and independent scholar, will show slides of Mohican sites in the County including sites on the Rensselaer Plateau. Bonney Hartley, Tribal Co-preservation Officer of the Mohican Tribe’s new field office in Troy, will finish the evening with a discussion about present-day tribal priorities and activities in the region.

“Native Americans in Rensselaer County” is the fifth in RPA’s monthly lecture series which began in January 2016. The presentation will begin at 7 pm. There is a $5 suggested donation at the door. All are welcome. For more info, visit the RPA webpage at www.rensselaerplateau.org.[/private]
