Evelyn P. Carelli

Eagle Bridge – Evelyn P. Carelli, 93, passed away on April 3, at the Albany Medical Center surrounded by the love of her family. She resided on State Rte 22 in Eagle Bridge and was the wife of the late John W. Carelli who died on July 17, 1970.

[private]Ob-Carelli-wEvelyn was born on February 8, 1923 in Bennington, Vermont, daughter of the late Eli and Lucy (Bellemare) LaPorte. She was educated at Sacred Heart School in Bennington. Evelyn worked her entire adult life to help support her family. She retired at the age of 76 from the Lake Worth, Florida School District. Evelyn enjoyed playing cards and the game Sequence with her grandchildren, she also liked doing crafts, crocheting, reading and puzzles. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with and feeding her family.

Survivors include her sons John “Jack” Carelli of Eagle Bridge, NY, Charles E. Carelli (Joann) of White Creek, NY and Anthony F. Carelli (Rosemarie) of Grafton, NY, her grandchildren Roxanne, Kateri, Kari, Traci and Colin John, great-granddaughter Isla Claire. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Evelyn is predeceased by a granddaughter, Courtney Carelli, sisters Marjorie LaPorte, Rita Scullary, Genevieve Elwell, Lorraine Vivaldi and Beatrice Scott, brothers Robert and Raymond LaPorte and daughter-in-law Sandra Carelli.

A Memorial service will be held on Saturday May 21, at 1 pm from the Mahar Funeral Home, 43 Main Street in Hoosick Falls, NY. Burial will follow the service at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Hoosick Falls. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 11 am until the start of the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the Cambridge Valley Rescue Squad or the Buskirk Fire Department through the funeral home.[/private]
