HFCS Symphonic Band And Hoosick Falls Community Band Joint Concert

The Symphonic Band from Hoosick Falls Central School and the Hoosick Falls Community Band will present a band concert on Wednesday, April 13, at 7 pm in the  school auditorium.

[private]Each band will present selections and then join and perform as a combined group of over eighty musicians.

The Symphonic Band under the baton of Rob Allen will present: “Festivo” by Vaclav Nehlybel, four movements from “Courtly Airs and Dances” and “American Elegy” by Frank Ticheli written in dedication to the victims of Columbine.

The Community Band directed by Bill Gaillard will offer “Liberty Fleet” a march by Karl King, “Music From Tombstone,” and “Ballet Parisien” by Jacque Offenbach including Overture, Valse, Galop, Valse and the well-known Finale.

The combined band will perform “Prestissimo”  by Karl King  directed by Bill Gaillard, “The Lions King”  by Elton John and Tim Rice, and “Rise of the Vulcan” by David Shaffer, directed by Rob Allen. The program will close with a Vaudeville style selection “Curtain Call” by John Wasson directed by Bill Gaillard.

The public is invited to this shared program of school and community. Mark your calendar for Wednesday, April 13 at 7 pm.[/private]
