Mildred L. Buck

North Bennington – Mildred L. Buck, 90, passed away Saturday April 9, at her Homestead Greene residence. She was the wife of the late Charles S. Buck.[private]Buck-wMildred was born January 24, 1926, in Tupper Lake, NY, daughter of the late Charles W. and Alma M. (Wood) Arnold. She was educated in Walloomsac, NY and St. Mary’s Academy in Hoosick Falls. Mildred worked as a short-order cook at various local eateries including The Amber Glow, Tate’s Diner, The Food, Jean’s Place, and Delaney’s Hotel.  She also worked the concession stand at Hathaway’s Drive-In while Charlie ran the projection booth.  Mildred served as a Senior Companion through the Office of Aging, coordinated the Young at Hearts Senior Luncheons at Kevin’s in North Bennington and was a lifelong caregiver.   Mildred was also a faithful communicant of St. John the Baptist Church.

Survivors include her children Jacquelyn A. Smith (Brad) of Schodack, NY, Nora E. Buck (Paul Natale) of Skowhegan, ME, Kenneth A. Buck (Sharon) of Saratoga Springs, NY, Kevin A. Buck (Tracy) of Troy, NY, Keith A. Buck of Hoosick Falls, NY and Scott E. Buck (Lin) of Pownal, VT, her sisters Barbara Beagle of Bennington, VT, Linda Hall of Scottsdale, AZ, Charlene Hughes of Tennessee, brother John Arnold of Salem, NY.  She is also survived by sixteen grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Mildred is predeceased by five sisters: Mary, Gail, Sherry, Rosemary, and Geraldine,  three brothers: Sonny, Jay, and Leeward, and grandson Erich Charles Frank.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Saturday April 16, at 12 noon from St. John The Baptist Catholic Church in North Bennington, VT. Burial will follow the mass at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Hoosick Falls, NY.

Relatives and friends may call at the church on Saturday from 10 am until the start of the Mass. Arrangements are under the care of the Mahar Funeral Home, 43 Main Street in Hoosick Falls, NY. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society through the funeral home.[/private]
