In addition to performing with the Chorale, Monroe Crossing will play an entire set of music from their bluegrass repertoire. These concerts will be Monroe Crossing’s only northeast appearance in 2016 and are scheduled between their Korean and European tours.

Named in honor of Bill Monroe, “The Father of  Bluegrass Music”, Monroe Crossing dazzles audiences with an electrifying blend of classic bluegrass, tight harmonies, razor sharp arrangements, and engaging audience rapport.  In 2013, this award-winning bluegrass band from Minnesota played the Carnegie Hall premiere of “The World Beloved:  A Bluegrass Mass”.  This stunning work combining traditional bluegrass artistry and modern choral sophistication was composed for Monroe Crossing by composer Carol Barnett and librettist Marisha Chamberlain.

Tickets are $15 and can be reserved by calling 518-692-7458 or emailing jen.braucher@gmail.com.

The Battenkill Chorale,  an 85-voice unauditioned chorus from six counties in New York, Massachusetts, and Vermont founded twenty-one years ago by Artistic Director Janet McGhee, has matured into what is now recognized as one of the premier amateur choruses in the North Country and Capitol Regions.[/private]
