Robert W. Williams

Hoosick Falls – Robert W. Williams, 70, passed away on Saturday April 16, at the Southwestern Vermont Medical Center in Bennington, Vermont. He resided on Ball Street Extension in Hoosick Falls with his wife Janet S. (Sutton) Williams.

[private]Robert was born on July 29, 1945, in Hoosick Falls, son of Elsie (Gardner) Williams of Hoosick  and the late Charles Williams. He graduated from Hoosick Falls High School and was a veteran of the United States Coast Guard, serving from 1963 to 1967. Robert was employed by the United States Postal Service for thirty years and served as Postmaster in Hoosick Falls. He enjoyed going to car shows, duck hunting, riding his motorcycle and time spent with family, especially his grandchildren.

Survivors other than his mother Elsie and wife Janet include his daughter Brenda Murphy (Shawn) of Peru, NY, son Robert M. Williams (Christine) of Cambridge, NY, brother Charles A. Williams (Katherine) and grandchildren Alyssa and Kyle Murphy, Tristan and Liam Williams, Lily Foster and Elizabeth Swain.

Funeral services will be Friday April 22 at 11 am from the Hoosick Baptist Church on South Street in Hoosick, NY. There will be no calling hours. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are under the care of the Mahar Funeral Home, 43 Main Street in Hoosick Falls, NY. Memorial contributions may be made to the Karen & Molly McGovern Memorial Fund through the funeral home.[/private]
