Scholarship Opportunities For HFHS Students

As graduation approaches, students at Hoosick Falls High School are busy filling out scholarship applications. There are many scholarships to apply for, and the district would like to share the current list with the community. If you have a child or grandchild who attends HFHS or know of a student who does, please encourage them to apply for any scholarships for which they are eligible.

[private]The Stephen W. Forrest Colvin Scholarship Fund

To be eligible you must have been accepted to college with the intent/commitment to play collegiate sports. Due: 5/24/2016

PTA Jenkins Memorial Scholarship

To be eligible you must be pursuing a degree in teaching.

Due: 5/24/2016

PTA Stanley Marcus Youth Humanitarian Award

Given to a senior who has demonstrated outstanding volunteer community service. Due: 5/24/2016

PTA Art Scholarship

Given to a student involved in the arts (music, performing arts, or visual arts). Due: 5/24/2016

The Howard Haynes Kiwanis Scholarship

To be eligible you must have a GPA of at least 85% and have been accepted at a postsecondaryinstitution. The Selection Committee shall base its selection on academic achievement, extra-curricular and community involvement, citizenship & financial need. Due: 5/11/2016

Timothy H. Gifford Memorial Scholarship

This $1,500 scholarship has been made possible due to the generosity and kindness of the local community which Tim grew up in and belonged to. One scholarship is available annually to anyone pursuing post-secondary education in agriculture or mechanics. Although, special consideration is given to current/past members of a county 4-H program, the applicant need not be a member to apply. Applications can be found on the website www.ccerensselaer.org under the Forms tab. Applications must be postmarked by 5/01/2016 and mailed to: Timothy H. Gifford, Memorial Scholarship, 30 Berkshire Dr., Troy, NY 12180. Due: 5/01/2016

Beryl H. Moul Memorial Grange Scholarship

Applicants must be Rensselaer County residents (for at least 4 years) and must be accepted in an accredited 2 or 4-year college program pursuing a career in Agriculture, Home Economics, Human Ecology, Family Sciences, Forestry, Human or Animal Medicine, Education, Consumer Sciences, Nursing, Natural Resource Management, Environmental Engineering, or Pharmacology.
