Berlin CSD Asks Public To Weigh In On Technology Plan At June 2 Meeting

May 26, 2016 By eastwickpress

submitted by Adam Charbonneau
The Board of Education invites the community to participate in a Roundtable Discussion about how technology can best be used to enhance Berlin Central School District’s educational program. Held Thursday, June 2 in the Berlin Middle School/ High School library, the meeting will be a discussion on how Berlin Central Schools should use the $947,237 in funding it received through NY State’s Smart Schools Bond Act.[private]
The Smart Schools Bond Act was passed as part of the 2014-15 NY State budget and approved by voters in a statewide referendum in November of 2014. The Bond authorized the issuance of $2 billion in funding, distributed across the state, to finance educational technology and infrastructure to improve learning opportunities for students.
As Berlin Central School District begins development of a Smart Schools Investment Plan, the Board of Education invites the public to be involved in this planning process from the outset. Community members are encouraged to come and share their thoughts as to how Berlin’s Smart Schools funding can best be used to benefit our schools and how the District can sustain any improvements or increases in the long term.
Berlin Middle School/High School is located at 17400 Route 22 in Cherry Plain. Questions about the meeting can be addressed to Mary Grant, District Clerk, at 658-2690.[/private]
