Dennis FaFard

Berlin–Dennis J. FaFard, 90, passed away peacefully on May 6, 2016 surrounded by his loving family.
Dennis was born in St. Eugene, Quebec, Canada, a son of the late Alexander and Alice FaFard. He honorably and valiantly served his country in the United States Army and his duty was as a weather observer in Alaska where he would make, record and evaluate data on atmospheric elements. [private]Ob-FaFardPhoto-wHe was a graduate of RPI and enjoyed woodworking, crossword puzzles, solitaire and gardening. His greatest passion and whole life was his beloved wife, Anna.
He was predeceased by his beloved wife Anna FaFard; siblings, Jacqueline Goot, Leopold FaFard, Raymond FaFard and Brigitte FaFard. Survivors include his loving children, Virginia (Murry) Saunders and William (Carol) Purdy; devoted grandchildren, Stephanie (Kevin) Saunders-Yeh, Laura (Steve) Harrison, Jason (Shaunna) Saunders, Lynn (Chris) Evans, Melissa Purdy, Tracy Purdy and Trisha Purdy; 7 great-grandchildren; he is also survived by many nieces, nephews and wonderful friends.
Services will be held on Friday, May 13 at 10 am at the Thomas M. Barber Funeral Home, 66 Armsby Road, Petersburgh.   Interment to follow in Berlin Community Cemetery.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the funeral home on Thursday evening from 5 until 8 pm.
Memorial contributions may be made in his honor to the Berlin Volunteer Fire Company,  PO Box 269, Berlin, New York 12022.
