Hoosick Grange met on May 11. David Cornell, Master, conducted the meeting. It was reported that the water will be checked on Tuesday to see that everything is all right and working well. [private]They had a thank you from the Food Closet for the donation. Other business was discussed and it was time for the lecturer’s program.
Berta Burr was in charge of the program. First they had a play on an old Chinese folktale titled “Two of Everything.” Martha Babbitt was the narrator and Burta Burr and Corinne Philpott were Mr. and Mrs. Hak-Tak. They acted out their parts. That was quite interesting.
Next, Burta’s theme was on laughter – laughter was a physical reaction of joy and an explosive sound. She had a basket, full of jokes, that everyone had to take one and read it. This happened a number of times. Everyone had a good laugh. The lecturer thanked Burta for the program.
Hoosick Grange’s next meeting was on May 25. Martha Babbitt was in charge of the program. Natalie Ryan was in charge of refreshments.[/private]
