Joan R. Nault

Hoosick Falls – Joan R. (Snyder) Maxon Nault, 75, died on Sunday, May 15, 2016 at Samaritan Hospital in Troy following a short illness.
Born in Troy, Joan was the daughter of the late Howard M. and Eleanor (Randolph) Snyder.  She was a 1958 graduate of Berlin High School and later furthered her education at Hudson Valley Community College where she earned a business degree.  [private]Joan was employed for much of her life and counted among her employers the W. J. Cowee, Company, Inc., the Van Rensselaer Manor, the Edward Seagroatt Family and the Marriott Hotel in Albany, from where she retired.
She was a member of the Grafton Baptist Church and the Hoosick Falls Seniors. Joan enjoyed the times spent with her family, solving puzzles, painting and playing cards, and her kitty cats.
She was the widow of the late Edward Nault and mother of the late Dietra Degen, and former wife of the late Jerry W. Maxon.
She is survived by her daughter, Dacia Sandlin of Scotia; her son, Terry Maxon of Niskayuna; Jean Priestley of Owasso, OK, Katherine Gardner of Kinderhook, Doris Quidgeon and Howard Snyder, Jr. both of Grafton.
She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service for Joan will be held on Friday at 2 pm in the Thomas M. Barber Funeral Home, Armsby Road, Petersburgh. Reverend Jason White will officiate.  Interment will follow in the Meadowlawn Cemetery in Petersburgh.  Friends are invited and may also visit with the family on Friday, before the service, from noon until 2 pm.
