Duck Derby On The Walloomsac River Raises Funds For St. Mary’s Academy

The Quack is a three-year old community tradition held at Brown’s Walloomsac Brewery in Hoosick Falls, NY. Sophie Hayes sold 91 ducks, more than anyone else, for the Third Annual St. Mary’s Quack, the rubber duck derby on the Walloomsac River, right next to Brown’s Brewing Company Taproom and Brewery. For her hard work, she was bestowed the honor of being on the bridge and launching the ducks into the river.

Over 1,000 ducks were sold and entered into the Derby. First prize was $1,000; Rita Pemrick was the 2016 winner. [/private]
