Saturday was the busiest of the weekend, with the crowds on Sunday and Monday held down a bit by the forecast for late day storms. Park Manager Melissa Miller said the Park hopes to have the new restroom facilities on both the north and south side of the beach open by mid-July. Work on the new Nature Center will begin in September. The Cherry Plain State Park also opened this weekend. Cherry Plain is undergoing a major construction project this summer, and will only be open Friday evening, Saturday and Sunday until the construction is complete.[private]
