Helen (Kyer) Brownell

West Hoosick, NY-Helen (Kyer) Brownell, 91, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday June 1, at the Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation, surrounded by her family. Helen was born May 27, 1925, in Troy, NY, daughter of the late Lorens and Hattie (Jacobs) Kyer.

[private]Helen attended Hoosick Falls Schools and worked at Hoosick Falls Central School in the cafeteria, retiring in 1988. She married Wesley Brownell November 26, 1944, celebrating 71 years of marriage. After retirement, she enjoyed shopping trips with her husband and helping with her grandchildren. She celebrated her 91st birthday by meeting her two newest great grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband Wesley, daughter Gayle (Joseph) Magisano, Carl (Lorraine) and Stan (Robin) Brownell, her grandchildren Michael Magisano, Dianne Magisano (late Wayne), Eric (Katie) Brownell, Mark (Kim) Brownell, Christy (David) Siau, Matthew Brownell (Karley Morin), Ashley (RJ) Sweet and Tyler Senecal, her great grandchildren Joshua Magisano (Amber Cottrell), Mia, Juliette, Wesley and Evelyn Brownell and Bohdan Siau. She is also survived by her sister, Marion Garahan and several nieces, nephews and their families. She was predeceased by her brothers Lorens Jr. and Harold and grandson Wayne Magisano.

Funeral services were held Saturday June 4 at 10 am from the Mahar Funeral Home in Hoosick Falls. Burial followed the service at West Hoosick Cemetery. Relatives and friends called at the funeral home on Friday afternoon. Memorial contributions may be made to either the Wayne Magisano Memorial Fund or the charity of your choice through the funeral home.

The family gives special thanks to Marcus Martinez and the staff and especially the nurses at the Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation who showed Helen special care and love during her two-year stay.[/private]
