Home Delivery Of Water  Planned In Petersburgh

June 2, 2016 By eastwickpress

submitted by Town of Petersburgh

Working in collaboration with Taconic, the Town of Petersburgh has developed a new water distribution process for town residents that will supplement the current distribution that takes place at Town Hall.

[private]Beginning June 6 a home delivery process will be in place through which qualified residents can choose to have water delivered to their homes or continue to receive tickets that will allow them to pick up water at the Town Hall or at Tops Market in Hoosick Falls.

The approximately 80 households currently on the public water supply will be offered the opportunity to sign up for this temporary residential water delivery plan until the Town water filtration system is on line later this year.

Town residents with private wells that have been tested by Rensselaer County Department of Health and determined to be over the recently established federal EPA health advisory level of 70 parts per trillion will also be offered the opportunity to sign up for the temporary residential plan. The residential plan will eventually be replaced by a Point of Entry Treatment (POET) system once it is approved for use by the Rensselaer County Department of Health.

Qualified residents who wish to take advantage of home delivery may start signing up for it on or after June 6 at the Town Hall during regular hours.

Qualified residents not participating in the residential delivery program can continue to receive water at the Town Hall or at Tops.

Taconic has been working closely with the Petersburgh Town Board to help ensure residents get accurate and timely information and have an adequate supply of water.  It is our hope that the new distribution system will be an easier and more convenient solution for Town residents. [/private]
