Hoosick Falls Police Warn Residents Of Scam

The Hoosick Falls Police Department is investigating requests received by local residents by phone as well as by social media, requesting donations to assist residents of Hoosick Falls concerning the water issues in Hoosick Falls.  [private] The Hoosick Falls Police Department as well as The Village and Town Board are advising all resident that the request is a scam.  To our knowledge there is no such organization requesting this type of donation.
We encourage any resident who receives such calls to contact the Village Police as well as the Village or Town Board to assist with your questions or concerns.
The Village and Town are working closely with the residents of Hoosick Falls in meeting all concerns about the water crisis but unfortunately there are individuals that are trying to take advantage of the residents in troubling times.
The Hoosick Falls Police Department can be reached at 686-7999 to report calls which may be part of this scam. [/private]
