A planning meeting for the “Rock the Block” party will be held on Thursday, June 30 at 7 pm at the Cheney Library. Join with other Hoosick residents to plan this big community event scheduled for Wednesday, August 3. [private]
The Village Board has given permission to close down Main Street between Wilder and Elm Streets, so tables can be set up for community members to gather with old friends and meet new ones over the pot luck dishes everyone will be encouraged to bring. So far, the committee has been lucky to get several donations, including barbecued chicken, coleslaw, and drinks which will be free to all (as long as supplies last). Dessert will be cakes provided by the organizing committee that you can “adopt” a couple of days before, decorate with a Hoosick theme, and share at the event.
Happening at the same time as one of Hoosick Falls’ traditional summer Community Band concerts in Wood Memorial Park that evening, this event, called Rock the Block, will celebrate our community strength and spirit. Contact ihearthoosick@gmail.com for more information or to adopt a cake.[/private]
